gPhone Rumored
With all the (deserved) hype of the iPhone, it makes sense that there will be more advanced competition, and even more rumors of advanced competition. Engadget just posted some pics of a rumored Google Phone. The look of the pics matches the ideas of the iPhone in that it is a keyboard less touch screen.
But is it real? Engadget is notorious for the amount of Photoshop’d images that get submitted as news. And as one reader pointed out, the blurring in the shot is inconsistent and appears to have been done in Photoshop.
The question remains though, will some company like Google make a competing device (LG just announced their new “Prada” phone which looks very much like an iPhone)? It may seem obvious that they will, but who has yet to make a solid attempt to dethrone the iPod? Microsoft does obviously not impress the market place with the Zune, and there is no doubt that a full screen video iPod will hit the shelves in 2007. It seems like Apple is on a well-deserved roll. And for the first time in their history, full profiting from their innovations before they are ripped off. Engadget is also reporting that Apple will have nearly a 50% profit on the iPhone. It looks like Apple will have an amazing year.
