Patent Filings Reveal Apple TV DVR Interface

apple_rainbow_logo___think_different_1280blasck.jpgAs reported by AppleInsider.com, rather than merely being a vehicle to deliver content from your computer to your TV, Apple TV will also have a DVR component that will allow you to record and store television programs in addition to the pre-aired content one can download from iTunes Store.

In addition to all of this, Apple is developing a touch-based remote that will act as a portable program guide. The remote, which resembles an iPod Nano, stores weeks of programming and the user can browse through it and then determine which programs they want to record. Then, all they do is send the info to the Apple TV through the remote and the device will then record the programs requested.

Theoretically, you could load up the remote with all the programs and then when you had a free moment on a train, on a flight, or whenever, you could decide which programs you want to record, come back home, and then sync it with your Apple TV. It’s not yet known if they are considering pairing this device with iPod or iPhone, but it makes sense.

There are also a bunch of changes to the on-screen interface offered by Apple TV. Check out the post on Appleinsider.com to have a better look.
